Smile In The Sky

Well I saw it and didn’t realize it. Last evening while wheeling out my garbage, I noticed the first crescent moon and a couple of bright stars in the the sky. I thought how nice, but then started thinking about the clear skies and how that might effect the weather. Oh well, once a meteorologist always a meteorologist and not always an astronomer.

I do love following astronomy, but this slipped by me. But how neat, Venus and Jupiter were within 2 degrees of the moon and in some parts of the world the crescent moon was under the two planets making it look like a smiley face. Tonight the skies should be clear and in the evening the moon will be farther away from Venus and Mars, but the sky should still look cool.  Just don’t forget to bundle up.
