Camping For Science With Rock It Learning

It is well known that the United States isn’t turning out scientists like other parts of the world.  It is something we lag in and I don’t know if it is our modern culture or what.

What I do know is we need to get children, especially girls, interested in science so some of them might want to become scientists.

Some students I talk to find science boring and they can’t relate to it.  They don’t enjoy the rigid teach for a test approach used in many schools.

Yesterday, I got to host some children from a science camp.  It is a science camp that uses cutting edge technology and hands on projects.  The camp is called ”Rock  It Learning”.  The children came to the station as part of their storm chasing unit.  They seemed very excited about science and that was nice to see.  Here is the website if anyone would like to look into the camp.    http://www.rockitlearning.com
