Heat Tips For Staying Hydrated

Just got a message from a very nice lady who watches all the time but was a little concerned that we emphasize drinking water to stay hydrated in a heat wave.

Obviously you should avoid caffine and alchohol because that helps dehydrate you.  But according to the Red Cross water is the best drink.

The nice caller told me that water isn’t the perfect drink that you need to replace minerals etc.  It sounded like she was talking about Gatorade.  She was well meaning, but I have to respectively disagree with her and side with the Red Cross that water is the best.  Sports drinks are important if you are an athlete who trains and plays hard, but according to doctors, the average weekend athlete would be fine with just water.
