Young Workers

When I was in third grade, I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up.   It was a baseball player (Go Cubs!), or was it an astronaut… or was it a fireman?   I remember wanting to be all those things because I thought they were cool.  I never considered the education requirements, I just thought they would be fun.  On Friday, I went to a career development day at C.E. Magnum in Durham and talked to third graders!

I guess in this day and age it’s never too early to think about careers and the students seemed very interested in weather.  I explained that most meteorology jobs aren’t on tv and some seemed glad to hear that when they heard that I get up for work around 2:30 am most mornings.
